PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE' S PROMISE TO THE PRISONERS

PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE 'S VISIT TO KIRIKIRI

Wednesday, 28th of December 2016, will never be forgotten in a hurry by both the inmates and Warders who were present when Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, visited the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos, among other places visited.

In marking the Bi-Annual Let’s Go A Fishing service with the theme : "Great Expectation", which was held on the 26th, 27th &28th of December, 2016 by different RCCG Provinces. The G.O's visit was quite remarkable as his visit was not just to pray and win soul but also to ensure he monitored the development of things in the Prison.

Some of the activities Pastor Adeboye engaged in during his visit include:
***
*Earnest Prayers for both inmates and Warders
*Gave out food items and health care products to the Prison
*Visit the RCCG  sponsored Open University
*Visit the Female inmates who are students and the officers
*Checked the construction project at the Maximum Hospital

***He gave two salient promises:

1} He promised that RCCG will continue to do more in the Prisons, because    every soul both within and outside the Prison wall is important.

2} He also promised that he will keep advocating for  the inmates before the Nigerian Government

The moral of this post is to encourage us to work in this stead and surpass it. There are one or two Prisons in every state in Nigeria with thousands of people suffering from bail fees as low as 10,000 with the exceptions of Prsions in Lagos State.

Most of the Prisons outside Lagos state are not in good conditions. Somes of the things one can do include: write to relevant authorities for Legal assiatance in cases where inmates need representations an. We can equally donate food and clothing items, especially for Prisons outside Lagos State. These is because due to proximity Prisons outside Lagos State are often left out.  For instance, Ishagamu Prisons lack Grinding Machine, they often take their food to the town to have it grinded for them which affecting the time of feeding the inmates. Abeokuta Boys Home is another case in point.

It will shock you that some inmates are serving jail terms of ten years and more for on awaiting trial, thereby increasing the numbers of people Government often provide food for. In the same vein, some inmates have had to miss out on Court hearing due to the court, due to mobility challenge.

These and many more challenges is faced by the Nigerian Prisoners.
Let us rise up to groan , give and visit the Nigerian Prisons.
