FIREPEMI 5

FIREPEMI5 If anyone knew what happened that noon, it would have done a lot of good. If only someone could just tell these Doctors and Detectives that Firepemi  was the only reason Geoffrey was still lying sick, then the story will be different. If only someone could read through the mind of Geoffrey to know where he is and what he was thinking about.  It had been months and Geoffrey had moved from one health issue to the other. They now had no more Police case to settle, it is no longer a murder case even though,  the case was not even clear to the zealous detective. They felt it was an award winning case a and so they really invested their time and research into it. Ben had just finished narrating the ordeal to Geoffrey’s Mum and his only sister, who seem more petrified by not just the pathetic story but majorly by Geoffrey’s state of health. Who would ever believe that Geoffrey would leave  the surgical emergency to medical emergency then to

FIREPEMI 4

FIREPEMI 4 Detective Bill Mensa came in next and sat beside Inspector James Wilson. Ben was looking at the two averagely old men and how they intended to probe a patient who had just become conscious in less than twenty-four hours (24 hours). They both looked at their notepads and iPad, where they had scribbled some questions. Soon Detective Mensa, an elderly Ghanaian Officer gently asked Geoffrey how he was doing. Geoffrey only nodded in the affirmative then turned his eyes to the drip stand and then up unto the ceiling. His gaze was welcomed by some pictures which Detective Mensa had brought out, to build up his enquires. The pictures showed the apartment of Firepemi, another showed the blood stains on the floor and a few other pictures showed the scattered room and yet another showed the class room. Upon seeing the pictures, Geoffrey looked away and by the next time he looked at them he was in tears. He would not say a word. The Detective

FIREPEMI Geoffrey soon became conscious. His sudden scream could have woken up the dead in the  Mortuary.  He had screamed due to an excruciating pain. He felt a strange pain in his neck as he attempted to turn his neck, To look around at his new environment, strange as It were. It took the help of pretty Nurse Adesua to calm him down. Nurse Adesua was on duty, the night Geoffrey was wheeled in. She is one Nurse, who often act based on being present in the moment. With so much compassion, she had attended to him that night she returned more to his bed after checking a few other patients. Nurse Adesua had been away from work, for four days to attend her Medical Training on dealing with patients through the use of therapeutic media. On her return to work, She was informed that an unconscious young male patient in Ward B, died the previous night. Her heart skipped as the thought of Geoffrey was foremost on her mind. Adesua was almost scared, but

Firepemi 2

Firepemi 2 Infact the room seem like Hurricane Mary and HurricanBenalewa had just had a combat. Geoffrey became confused, there was no sign of Firepemi, Yet he called her name again and again. He leaned against the wall facing the backyard and dialed Ben, his best friend's number to narrate his ordeal. Ben is a lover of books and after every lecture, he would retire to the library. Firepemi, Ben & Geoffrey were the Liberians ' three musketeers. This was because they had a great legacy of "breathing" books. Ben's number was ringing and there was no response.  Geoffrey turned to leave when his gaze met with the back view of Firepemi, who sat helplessly in a pool of blood. Geoffrey shouted her name and assured her he was coming to help her. Fifi was not responding,so Geoffrey ran towards the door to help her, when he suddenly stumbled on a 6feet 5 inches guy. His body was really Black and slippery, he had so much energy

Firepemi 1

Firepemi "Fifi, Fifi, ...Fi" as she is fondly called. Geoffrey,  a tall slim and dark course mate and admirer of Firepemi  had checked her in the class after the just concluded test and noticed she was not in class. He wondered what must  have kept her from class, talk more of the test.  As the intelligent class rep. Geoffrey had gotten  to class early to prepare the class. He seemed too overwhelmed with his preparation  for the test that he did not notice Firepemi's absence. He searched the library, her favorite spot and  every other place in school for her before he  proceeded to her lodge. She seem to be nowhere close by,  yet he won't give up.   He called out her name again and could not hear any response.  He then drifted to her room wondering if she was sleeping.  "But what kind of sleep would that be?" He thought to himself.  Only Mr Donatus, their famous course mate who sleeps  while standing in a crowded lec

How To Say It Better

Image
How To Say It Better  Many times, you will find it necessary to speak on a subject while most times, your silence might make a great difference. What you say at times is not as important, as how it is said. I have noticed that people who love talking, are often engrossed with the desire to explain everything to everyone. Unfortunately, we forget we do not have to say it all. Tony Buon, a quintessential Leadership Coach, says " You need to train yourself to be comfortable with silence, particularly when dealing with cultures that respect silence more than we do in the West." The knowledge of who you are speaking to/with, is also crucial.  You also may need to evaluate your speech to ascertain why you must say it.  What we say and how we say it, can either mar our relationship or make it better. Richie Dayo Johnson a quintessential communication and behavioral Coach posits that, " When you open your mouth, you tell the wor

CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME BY PROJECT PINK BLUE

Mitchell Obama asserts:"Success isn't about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people's life."  To this respect, I s alute the courage and tenacity of Project PinkBlue towards the advocacy and financial support of Cancer victims. The residents of Ikeja and its environs, experienced an unusual Saturday as the Awolowo way was decorated with beautifully and sportingly dressed volunteers, who had taken to the street to “ CHOKE CANCER ” in an Awareness Walk.  The walk kicked off with an interesting aerobic session, after which the LASMA vehicle and DJ Truck, led the eager volunteers down to Ikeja under-bridge then back to the Lagos Television (LTV) premises where the Cancer screening, ultra scan,as w ell as cervical Cancer examination was conducted by Professionals on several people. Project PinkBlue asserts :  “Nigeria has been rated the 1 st in Africa and 5 th in the world with the largest deaths with over 2

How To Keep Your Man

MARRIAGE IS A GIFT. When I was still in paid employment,I had a very nice boss, he was so nice that everyone loved him and we always wanted to be in his best books. We once wanted to buy him a gift, we did not know what he liked, so we called a 'strategic' meeting to deliberate. Anyone looking in would think it was a serious affair but that was how special he was to us. We finally settled on a bottle of his favourite perfume. It was not too expensive but immediately I smelt it I knew he would love it. It was exquisite! It was that kind of perfume that lingered long after you had left a place. We wanted it to be really special so we asked the shop to wrap it specially and we got a courier service to deliver it to him at a meeting he was attending. We were so excited about our plans it was as if we were the ones getting the perfume as a gift. We imagined how he would react, what he would say and do. It was the talk of the office... ..Imagine you are this exquisite p

How Association Influences Your Purpose

Image
The How Of Association A ndrew Carnegie said, 'It marks a big step in your development when you realise that other people can help you do a better job than you can do by yourself.' (After all, you can't whistle a symphony; it takes an orchestra!) Your future is connected to certain people. Without them your destiny will be incomplete. If you're humble enough to accept that, your possibilities are unlimited. A key player in the Billy Graham Association was his childhood friend, Grady Wilson. In 1948 Billy asked Grady to come and work with him. At first he said no, but Billy persisted: 'God's told me you're to come and work with me. I need an evangelist; somebody who knows me and my ministry, somebody I can trust.' 'I didn't want to come,' Wilson later recalled. 'After all, I already had a successful ministry of my own holding citywide crusades.' But after praying he made the decision to follow Billy Graham (and God)

7 REASONS MARRIAGES FAIL

Image
Why Marriages Fail  I see captions like "Do not marry the    wrong spouse" or "Marriages fail because people marry wrongly".  I beg to defer, by saying that yes it is possible to marry for the wrong reasons but there is nothing like marrying the wrong spouse. People marry the "Right Man or Right Woman/Lady" but eventually things turn out badly and then the "Right" becomes the "wrong". Don't forget that at the point of "Yes I Do" or at the altar, they both knew and believed it is the right man or lady. Most people fell in love with the "Right man and lady". Unfortunately, things happen, unforseen reactions and disaster sets in and in no time the good becomes bad. The beautiful becomes the ugly and the great man becomes the foolish man and so on. 7 Reasons Marriages Fail. 1) Some people marry for the wrong reasons, which may include money, lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, pride of life , peer pressu

5 PEOPLE WE DO NOT LISTEN TO

The act of listening entails some elements such as focus and it basically requires making a conscious effort to mentally, emotionally and physically align with the subject and object of discussion. This involves being sensitive to the verbal and non-verbal messages and choice of words. Listening   is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages to ensure an  accurate  communication process. Without the ability to   listen   effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. 5 PEOPLE WE DO NOT LISTEN TO 1) Our Heart or Inner Mind 2) Our Spouse 3) Our Children 4) Our Elders 5) God
