Learn Easy Ways To Make Meatballs


I had planned a short trip to Alberta, Canada to spend two days with my close friend Alessia Gallo.

This visit had been eagerly anticipated, especially because I hadn't seen Alessia since she wed her sweetheart Riccardo Gallo, who was the apple of his mother's eyes. Riccardo was a Mummy'boy and every one taught, then it would be hard to stay far from his mother but here he is, stock to his sweet wife, my cheerful friend.

Now, I was scheduled for a breakfast with them at one of the sweet Calgary restaurants and from there we were to head back to their home.

So while waiting for my dear Alessia and Riccardo, I had to focus on my coffee that kept me company, yet I was constantly distracted by a couple on a date. Wow! These two were dotting over one another. They just seem to have so much affection flowing through their veins.

I would stare at them a little and then back to my coffee. It wasn't long before I heard Alessia's voice. She was too excited to see me and I was too, never knew when I was caught up in her big bear hug. She hugged me so tight, I could barely breathe and Ric was just laughing so loud. It was a delightful sight and of course, we created a scene. A happy moment is never a silent moment, you know. So we got home and before I was down admiring their new home and its environs, the lunch was ready. It was not like I had not eaten Pasta before now but she served Pasta with Meatballs.


Wow! This was sumptuous and with a savoury yet tempting taste. I couldn't resist asking for more, so the best way to ask for more was to stay another day.

Breaking this news to Riccardo made his day. Now both of them agreed to teach me how to make the meatballs after our morning walk the next day.

Meatballs seem like a meal of joy. The next day, after our early morning walk we refreshed and started on our meatball prep.

Origin of Meatballs

Have you ever wondered where this eye popping delicious Meatballs and Spaghetti originated from? Well, the origin of the meat balls is unknown. Many ascribe this favorite yummy dish to have originated from Italy, yet it is not readily served in an Italian restaurant.  However, a few people have traced the origin of this fabulous dish in America to the migration of Italians to America. Many people from different countries have modified this dish using additional recipes to make it more delicious appealing to them. The Atlantic.com opines that “The most likely candidate for the original meatballs seems to be Kofta, a dish of minced or ground beef, chicken, pork or lamb, mixed with rice, bulgur, or mashed lentils”.  The record has it that Italians who first settled in America introduced this dish to America, yet Italians cannot be said to be the creators of this minced meat dish. As far as I am concerned, meatballs are a great source of appetite as they are always tempting and that is why I take my time to enjoy the process of making meatballs.


Meatballs Ingredients

1 kg ground beef (Beef and Pork )

1 medium size onion – chopped

6 cloves garlic – diced

2 egg

Cheese 

3 sprigs parsley – chopped

Seasoning: 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

4 seasoning cubes

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

3/4 cup oil

3-4 large tomatoes – chopped

A little tomatoes sauce

2 leaves basil – chopped

1/2 cup of milk

Equipment

Stainless Steel Meatball Maker

Electric Meatballs cooker

Spatula

Frying Pan

Mixing Bowl

Egg whisk

Food Tray or cutting board

Knife

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE MEATBALLLS : Recipe Instructions

You can start the preparation by frying the chopped onions slightly in a frying pan with a little oil. 

The next task will be to season the ground beef with diced garlic, salt, seasoning cubes, black pepper, cheese, and cooked onions. You can wash your hands and use them to walk the seasoning into the minced meat. Try to allow the seasoning to penetrate through the beef.

Next, you can now pour the milk into the breadcrumbs and then pour it into the ground mix.

Next, you add the cheese, whisked eggs, chopped parsley, and chopped leaves and walk everything together.

In creating the meatballs, you can either use the stainless steel meatball maker to scoop the ball into equal sizes into the electric meatball maker or you can heat some oil in the frying pan and roll out the meatballs with your two hands forming the ball shape. After this, you fry it.

If you do not want it fried or roasted, you can also cook the meatballs in tomato sauce.

Meatballs can be made using simple tools with less complication. It can be roasted, fried or cooked in a sauce and served with rice or with Pasta. You can also make your delicious Meatballs using electric meatballs cooker. Please note that meatballs can be made overnight and refrigerated. Also, you don’t have to throw away your meatballs; you can store them ahead by putting them in the sauce. Ensure not to squish them together. Lucky you, Meatballs can stay up to a day extra. You can easily store them on a baking sheet or casserole dish for the next use. You can keep one if the leaves to beautify the meatball dish.
