I indeed welcome you formally into year 2017.
MANY waters passed under the bridge of 2016
But it sooth God in his mercy to grant us safe sail
Yes it is 2017
And 8 days have gone by

What have you on your lap
What have you on your mind
What occupies your desk of thoughts
In this new year

Please be resolute
To action every good plan
Times rolls like the wind
Never will yesterday be recalled as present
But its events would always be remembered

What if the trees planted yesterday
Were never planted
Then we would not have
The branches that shield us from the sun
Or the fruits that we eat and sell today
Then the furniture and Agbo jedi of today
Would be absent

Pick a seed of thought
Analyse it and plant
So your morrow can spring for joy
At your harvest
