OLAJUMOKE ORISAGUNA: The Morals Of Life
I welcome you all to Tales by Olola, a blog where we discuss topical issues, share opinion and help one another to be re-positioned in other to live a purposeful life. Am your loyal host, Olabusola Olorunnowo
As usual, Sundays often end with news
reports of incidents and on occasions, sometimes reports of accidents, however,
this weekend there was a story of transformation. It was a weekend never to be
forgotten; It was the weekend that berthed the news of the diligent 27 years
old Agege Bread seller, Olajumoke Orisaguna whose gait walked her into the
limelight on just another normal day for her.
As the cover star for the THISDAY style shoot for Tinnie Tempah. An invitation
by a distant relative gave her the privilege of joining the hundreds of ladies
who hawk the famous Agege Bread in the Lagos metropolis, only that she had to
hawk with her 14 months old baby leaving her 5 year old with her husband in Ire
town of Osun state.
Many people are out there searching for
that one day, that their day of joy would come; that day when the whole state or
nation will type their name into Google at multiple times in the day; that day
when you will stand before a series of beaming cameras and lights. Well, that
was the story of Olajumoke, the dream of stardom for many became her reality
through doing what she knows best to do, sell Agege bread. Like a dream, it came for
Olajumoke but there are morals to her story:
***THE MORALS
PERSISTENCE
One thing that got my attention about
this story is how fate brought Olajumoke to fulfilling her destiny through
her sheer Persistence and Continuity. My most trusted
book says and I quote: "Seeth that a man who is diligent in his business,
he shall stand before kings and not mere men".
It is worthy of note that, it was not her beauty that sold her to Ty Bello initially but her work. She was busy in her office doing her daily business. Even though she strayed into a photo shoot site while hawking and her look then sold her off faster than an Okada man, as intended by Ty Bello. Never sit idle, get a vocation, do something no matter how small it is. Even if you have a certificate without a job, Get busy in a little business. Opportunity only locates the Prepared. Remember there is always Dignity in Labour.

THERE IS TIME FOR EVERY ONE
MAKE AN IMPACT IN A LIFE
Another moral in this unusual story of
grass to grace, is that every individual has his or her own time. ‘Time and
chance happen to them all’ so the great book says, there is a time
to persevere and work and there is a season to be celebrated or of
harvest.
Seeking for celebration at the time for perseverance would mean majoring in the minor. Never compare yourself with other people, your destiny is different. You are created not as a copy, hence don't copy or envy those who have gone ahead of you. Instead invest in your now and your tomorrow will speak louder than you think.
There was a time when Ibukun Awoshika, was a furniture supplier but now she is the chairman of First Bank, Nigeria. Don't while away your time: every second count in history, so start today. Above all, we also need to seek God and ask him to help us fulfill our purpose of creation, rather than groping in the dark or tilling another man's soil.It is common knowledge that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Having a vision, plan, aim or motive in life is very important. Our motive while doing all that we do, really matters.

Lao Tzu opines that “You can’t have a perfect day without doing something for someone who’ll never be able to repay you”. Now it's one thing to meet with an
individual and it's another thing to take a second thought and help out that
person. There are several moral lessons behind this Olajumoke's story, and one
of the lessons is that; we all meet with several struggling young people daily
or hear of needy individuals daily yet we only stare with pity and move on with our
lives. We need to make life better for people by helping those we can help. The
more people you help, the more you fulfill your purpose on earth and pave a way
for others.
The point is when you make someone's dream come through, God will also put people in place to do much more for you. Who is that "Olajumoke" in your environment, locate him or her today and give a helping hand.
The story of Olajumoke Orishaguna can
never be complete without the key Actors who made her a point history; from a
subject of ridicule to a subject of International relevance. Some of these
people would include the distant relative who invited her to Lagos;
another is Ty Bello, who gave it a second thought to really
celebrate this talent, by sending people to search for her.
The singer turned photographer stated: "I decided I was going to photograph her that very afternoon.
Within an hour, Bimpe Onakoya, one of Nigeria’s
leading makeup artists and Zubby, one
of my favourite hair stylists, were at my studio to work magic". Now these
four people would have their names and brand rise far beyond them, as a result
of their association with Olajumoke. This article is not to endorse or praise sing any individual or profession, rather it is simply a case that is easy to relate with.
In closing, let us see Olajumoke's case as a call to
service, a call to persevere, a call to help someone and a call to be diligent.
As we travel the path of life, let us make an impact in people's life whenever
we get the opportunity to.
I also need to quickly mention to whom it may concern, that Olajumoke has a 'good looking' skin tone. Yes! you may not have the best of skin tone but you are beautiful with your skin tone, just love and care about what you have. Permit me to say, this should not be done by using skin destructive cream (Get fair in 7days)rather understudy your skin and consult certified dermatologist, if you must tone your skin.

I pray that we would all fulfill our
purpose of creation.
